Rough Drafts

Recently I cam upon a Facebook post asking if everyone's first drafts were completely horrible. My assumption, of course, was that yes, in fact, everyone has a crappy first draft.

I tend to imbibe a little when I write. My writing style dramatically improves when I reach that golden moment between drunk and lightly buzzed. This is a well-known phenomenon in the programming community. Since I have a degree in simulation programming, I have ample experience with this awesome yet tenuous period. So my rough drafts typically have at least one grammar error per line, and sometimes make little sense. Because of this, I go by the Golden Rule; check your drafts, then recheck, and check once more before giving your manuscript to anyone.
